What Is a Vacuum Sealer?
A vacuum sealer removes air from a package before sealing it, extending shelf life, preventing freezer burn, and protecting products from oxidation, moisture, and contamination. Vacuum sealing is widely used for food packaging, as well as for protecting industrial parts, electronics, and medical supplies from moisture and corrosion during storage or shipping.
Chamber vs. External Vacuum Sealers
Chamber vacuum sealers place the entire product inside a sealed chamber before removing air, making them well suited for liquids and high-volume operations. External (nozzle) vacuum sealers draw air out through the open end of the bag outside the chamber, which works well for solid, dry, or bulkier products.
What to Consider
- Product type (liquid, solid, irregular shape)
- Daily packaging volume and required cycle speed
- Bag or pouch size range
- Sealing bar length and chamber size (for chamber units)
