Packaging line conveyors connect the machines of a shrink line. Maripak SMART Sync motorized flat belt conveyors feed products into a sealer or carry finished packs away from the tunnel, hard-wired to the Maripak machine so they run in sync. They come 18″ wide in lengths from 39″ to 157″.

How to Choose a Packaging Line Conveyor

SMART Sync conveyors are made to match Maripak sealers and tunnels. The main choice is the length, which depends on where the conveyor sits in your line.

Infeed or discharge

An infeed conveyor brings products to an automatic L-bar or side sealer at the right spacing. A discharge conveyor takes finished packs from the tunnel exit to the packing table, where they can cool and be collected.

Length

Short modules such as the 18″ × 39″ link two machines; longer modules such as the 18″ × 118″ give room to accumulate packs or bridge a distance. The 79″ and 157″ versions fill the gaps.

Height and synchronization

The legs adjust the working height from 28″ to 39″ to match the connected machine. Each module is hard-wired to the Maripak machine, so it starts, stops and runs with it.

Planning a line

A typical automatic shrink line has an infeed conveyor, the sealer, the shrink tunnel and a discharge conveyor. On Maripak automatic sealers, an option lets the sealer control the speed of SMART Sync infeed and discharge conveyors from its own panel. Plan the total length of the line and the space for the operator at the end, where packs are collected and packed into cases.

Crated sizes

The modules ship crated: 580 lb for the 39″ module, 680 lb for 79″, 880 lb for 118″ and 1,080 lb for 157″. Crated lengths range from 48″ to 124″ and more, so plan the delivery route.

Do SMART Sync conveyors work with machines from other makers?

SMART Sync conveyors are made to match Maripak sealers and tunnels and are hard-wired to the Maripak machine for synchronized operation. Connection to equipment from other makers is not part of the standard setup. Ask us with details of your line if you need a different solution.

Which conveyor length do I need?

Measure the distance between the machines you want to connect, and add room where packs should accumulate or cool. Short 39″ modules link two machines; 118″ and 157″ modules bridge longer gaps or give space for manual packing at the end of the line.

Can the working height be adjusted?

Yes. The legs adjust the working height from 28″ to 39″, so the belt can be set level with the connected sealer or tunnel. Set the height during installation so products pass smoothly from one machine to the next without tipping at the transfer points.

How are the conveyors shipped?

They ship crated by freight from Maripak USA in Allentown, Pennsylvania, together with the machine or separately. Crated weights range from 580 lb to 1,080 lb depending on length. Freight is quoted in writing before you pay, and a liftgate delivery can be added if you have no dock.
