How to Choose a Maripak Machine

Maripak's range covers every step from a first shrink sealer to an automatic line. The easiest way to find the right machine is to match it to your volume and product size, then add the tunnel and conveyors the line needs.

Starting out: Compack hood sealers

The Compack 5800i seals and shrinks in one chamber, at about 5–10 packs per minute per Maripak, with no tunnel and no compressed air. The 5800HC takes products up to 13″ high; the 5800MC adds an automatic discharge conveyor.

Semi-automatic: LMC and TMC Pro

The LMC 5844-M, 8065-M and 9565-M close the sealing bar with a motor, at about 10–15 packs per minute, with seal areas from 23″ × 17″ to 35.5″ × 25.5″. The TMC Pro 5844-M and 8065-M add a built-in tunnel. The LMC-P 14065P seals long products up to 55″.

Automatic L-sealers: RLS e-Pro and CLS Compact

The RLS e-Pro 5844 and 8065 are servo-driven automatic L-sealers with product length detection and conveyor speeds up to about 98 ft/min. The CLS Compact combines an automatic L-sealer with a tunnel.

Side sealers: IMPACK, PRO-MOTION, HYBRID, WRAPTURE

Side sealers seal along the product, so long products and changing lengths run automatically. The IMPACK PRO series reaches up to 60 cycles per minute, the PRO-MOTION series up to 110 per Maripak. The HYBRID 60 suits tall products, the SYMPACK 35 combines sealer and tunnel, and the WRAPTURE seals without a trim.

Shrink tunnels: Diamond

Diamond tunnels come in single-chamber, extended-length and double-chamber versions with belts from 18″ to 59″, matched to the sealer in front. Example: the Diamond T-45.

PE bundlers: Multimac

The Multimac D 60, D 80 and D 100 bundle bottles, cans and cartons in PE film with a built-in tunnel.

Conveyors and parts

SMART Sync conveyors link Maripak machines and run in sync with them. The SPKTMCv1 kit holds recommended spare parts for the TMC Pro.

Power and compressed air

Compack, LMC and TMC Pro models run without compressed air, most on 200–240 V single-phase power. Larger tunnels and automatic lines need 3-phase power; some need compressed air. Each product page lists the requirements.

Film

Most Maripak L-bar and side sealers run polyolefin (POF) and PVC shrink film in the thickness ranges listed on each product page; automatic machines also handle PE, OPP, CPP and PP with the right knife. Multimac bundlers use PE film of 1–3 mil.

Options and configuration

Many machines can be configured with options such as taller chambers, stainless steel versions, foot pedals, photo-eyes or printed-film registration. Options are built in or supplied by Maripak and quoted together with the machine; the final configuration is confirmed in a written quote.

Building a line step by step

Many customers start with one Maripak machine and add to it later. A typical path is a Compack hood sealer first, then an LMC L-bar with a Diamond tunnel, and later an automatic RLS e-Pro or IMPACK side sealer with SMART Sync conveyors. Because Maripak sealers, tunnels and conveyors are made to work together, each step can reuse what is already there. Tell us your plans when you request a quote, so the first machine fits the line you want to build.

Maripak FAQ

Which Maripak machine is right for a small business?

A Compack hood sealer is the usual start. It seals and shrinks in one chamber, needs no tunnel and no compressed air, and per Maripak wraps about 5–10 packs per minute. When volumes grow, a semi-automatic LMC L-bar sealer with a tunnel or a TMC Pro is the next step.

Do Maripak machines need compressed air?

The Compack, LMC and TMC Pro models and the standard IMPACK side sealers run without compressed air. Some machines, such as the LMC-P 14065P, the CLS Compact, the WRAPTURE and the Multimac bundlers, require compressed air. Each product page lists the requirement.

Can Maripak install the machine?

Installation, start-up and operator training by Maripak technicians are available and quoted separately. Ask for them with your quote, especially for automatic lines, so the machine is set up for your products from the first day and your operators are trained on it.

Where do Maripak machines ship from?

They ship by freight from Maripak USA in Allentown, Pennsylvania, usually crated on a pallet. Freight and crating are quoted separately for each order and stated in your written quote. A liftgate delivery can be added if you have no loading dock.

Can Maripak machines be configured?

Yes. Many models offer options such as taller chambers, stainless steel versions, foot pedals, alternative tunnel belts, photo-eyes and printed-film registration. Options are quoted with the machine, and a machine with options is configured to order and confirmed in a written quote.
