How to Choose Ripack Shrink Equipment

Ripack's range is built around one task: shrinking PE film over pallets, structures, boats and large items. Start with the heat source, then add the cover-making equipment and accessories that fit your workflow.

Heat guns: Ripack 3000 and 2500

The Ripack 3000 is adjustable from 45 to 80 kW for heavy daily use and runs on propane, or on natural gas with a conversion kit. The Ripack 2500 is lighter at 2.07 lb and adjustable from 34 to 60 kW. Both come as complete kits with regulator, 26 ft hose and tool bag, and both have the Securipack system and automatic gas cut-off if the hose breaks.

Turbopack V2 shrink column

The Turbopack V2 shrinks a pallet cover on all sides and the top in about 40 seconds per Ripack, while the operator walks it once around the pallet. It comes in six heights from 2.62 to 10.5 ft.

Multicover: covers made to size

The Multicover 955 seals pallet covers with a Ripack heat gun and needs no power; the Multicover 960 E seals them by electrical impulse; the Multicover 935 holds up to four film rolls.

Ripaflam

The Ripaflam is an automated propane burner with electronic ignition and flame control for fixed shrink stations.

Accessories

Extension poles from 1′10″ to 6′8″ fit the Ripack 2200 and 3000 and help you reach high and low areas. Gas cylinder trolleys with arm, shelf or hose reel keep the hose and gun off the floor. The Calpack V2 pallet raiser lets you pull film under the pallet. See Gun Accessories.

Original spare parts

Igniters, nozzles, triggers, hoses and other original parts are listed in Ripack Spare Parts and in the parts tables on each gun page. Order by Ripack part number for an exact fit.

Beyond pallets

The same Ripack guns and PE shrink film are used for much more than pallets: temporary containment and weather protection on construction and restoration sites, scaffolding wraps, winterizing boats in marinas, and protecting machines, vehicles and large parts for transport or outdoor storage. Long extension poles let the operator reach high areas from the ground, and a cylinder trolley with a hose reel gives the range to work around large objects.

Planning checklist

Note what you wrap (pallets, structures, boats or machines), how many jobs per day, the film thickness you use and where the propane cylinders will be kept. With this information we can suggest a gun, accessories and, for pallets, a Turbopack or Multicover setup.

Typical users

Warehouses and exporters shrink wrapping pallets, construction and restoration contractors building containment, marinas winterizing boats, and industrial shippers protecting large machines.

Safety

Propane heat tools are operated only by trained personnel, following Ripack's instructions and local fire and gas codes. Keep the work area clear of flammable material and check hoses before each use.

Choosing by volume

Occasional jobs: a Ripack 2500 kit. Daily use and large jobs: a Ripack 3000 with extensions and a trolley. Many pallets per shift: add a Turbopack and a Multicover cover station.

Film

Pallet covers and construction wraps are made of polyethylene shrink film. Thicker film suits heavy, sharp-edged or outdoor loads; thinner film is enough for light loads in a warehouse. Estimate film use with the Pallet Shrink Calculator.

Shipping

Ripack products ship from Ripack's facilities in the Chicago area, Illinois, by UPS or LTL freight. Shipping is stated in your written quote before you pay.

Ripack FAQ

Which Ripack gun should I choose?

Choose the Ripack 3000 for heavy daily use, thick construction or marine film and work with extension poles; it is adjustable from 45 to 80 kW. Choose the Ripack 2500, at 2.07 lb and 34 to 60 kW, for regular pallet wrapping where the gun is not in use all day.

What comes in a Ripack gun kit?

Each complete kit includes the gun, a fail-safe adjustable pressure regulator, a 26 ft (8 m) gas hose with swivel connector, a 19 mm wrench, an instruction booklet and a canvas tool bag. The propane cylinder is not included and is connected by you.

What does the Turbopack V2 do?

It is a mobile propane shrink column that works like a shrink oven on wheels. The operator walks it once around the pallet, and per Ripack the cover is shrunk on all four sides and the top in about 40 seconds. It comes in six heights for different pallet heights.

Where do I find Ripack spare parts?

Original Ripack parts are listed in the Ripack Spare Parts collection and in the parts tables on each gun page. Order by Ripack part number for an exact fit. If you are unsure, send us the gun model and a photo of the part.

Where does Ripack equipment ship from?

Ripack products ship from Ripack's facilities in the Chicago area, Illinois, by UPS or LTL freight. Guns, accessories and parts usually go by parcel; Multicover systems and the Turbopack go by LTL freight. Shipping is quoted in writing before you pay.
